inside: Find out how I made this coordinating pj set with free sewing patterns to make a free kids pajama pattern set.
** Rose has worn these pjs since I sewed these three years ago. The set is too small and very worn, but they have lasted and it’s time to replace the coordinating pj set. Here is the updated version 9/22**
I love making pjs! Pajama patterns are generally easy to sew, I love knit fabric and they are something my kids need each season. This fall I decided to try something new, a four piece coordinating set! I’ve made a ton of pants, and other pjs in the past, but I haven’t done all the pieces like this before. I made short and long sleeves and short and long pants.. And here is the fun result! Pajama set sewing pattern free used only!
Free Kids Pajama Pattern
Today I’ve got all the details for creating this amazing pajama set AND loads of photos from both the sets I have created so far. You can easily tell the difference between the two. First, Rose is much smaller three years ago, and is wearing the blue and white set. In the new photos she is older and wearing the pink set.
I’m so excited that I was able to create this whole set using free patterns. I’ve got all the details for you today and I just love how this coordinating set turned out. Looking for free PJs for YOU? I just created a cozy fall pj set for myself from free sewing patterns too.
We had fun with this photo shoot, however, because it required several changes of clothes we ended up with some pretty crazy looks! Like fake sleeping… The video in this post has some even sillier sleeping poses {haha}

To make this pajama set I used my free legging pattern and the kids raglan pattern. The only edit I made was to size up on the leggings to make them a bit looser. I also added a cuff to the long and short bottoms. I didn’t used my actual short legging pattern, I just shortened the long ones.. this way they are knee length.

Sew coordinating Pjs
Funny Story… I thought this fabric was a floral print, and then I got it and it was a blue leopard… opps.. then I wasn’t sure what to do with it. I’ve had it for a few years and when I was looking for something to sew this pajama pattern I saw this in the drawer. I had almost two yards of the fabric, so when paired with the white knit I had enough to make the whole Pj set. Mix and match fabrics, cuffs, and pattern pieces to get the coordinating look you want.
Mix and match the short and long sleeves and short and long leg pants. The weather is is up and down, especially in the fall and spring, so it seems like we are constantly adjusting what we are wearing depending on the weather. Yesterday it was 85 and today it barely hit 50… so yes, this pj set is perfect for it all.

Oh! This is lovely – and what a fabulous model! I’m about to visit my granddaughter and putting together a goody bag for her. A set of granny made pjs will be appreciated. Thank you for inspiring me and for your hard work.
