T-shirt Dress Pattern
$0.00
Pattern Details
Based off the girls free t-shirt pattern. I’ve shortened the bodice and added a pattern for a circle skirt or gathered skirt. Works with both woven and knit fabric in the skirt. More photos and tutorial here: https://lifesewsavory.com/t-shirt-dress-free-pattern/

Overall I like this pattern, although a note somewhere about sizing the neckband and a link to your perfect neckband tutorial would be helpful. I printed out the pattern pages and taped them together, then I used tissue paper to trace out the sizes I wanted (size 8 and the 10/12 size) so I don’t have to print the master pattern again.
I made my first knit dress with long sleeves using this pattern and your tutorials and am pretty pleased with the results. I am much more comfortable with woven fabric but am trying to embrace knits for my granddaughters. I used the size 8 without any alterations and the gathered skirt option and it came out very well.
I am now using the size 10/12 and noticed that the front and back pieces do not align at the armhole. If I align the front and back pieces along the bottom edge, the front side edge is almost 1/2 inch shorter than the side of the back piece. The size 8 did not have this issue. I’ve got the front and back pieces sewn with the neckband attached and now have to figure out how to tweak the pieces to make it work. I’ve not checked other sizes, but I recommend to others that you test your paper pattern pieces and tweak them if necessary before cutting your fabric.
I’ve bought a bunch of fabric and will be using this pattern to create new dresses for my granddaughters and I am very sure they are going to love them.
