I’ve been eyeing KAM SNAPS for months. So I am thrilled to be offering one lucky reader the chance to win a starter pack today! {I was given the starter pack by I Like Big Buttons for free in exchange for this post}. I’ve only had my KAM snaps for about a week, but have already used them for so many things. Even if you don’t sew, I’m pretty sure you could find ways to use these handy snaps! Today I not only have a great giveaway, but a tutorial for making your own reusable snack packs. Perfect for summer picnics and school!
Before I get to the tutorial… lets have this giveaway!! One winner will receive a 100 pack starter KAM snaps pack and the snap tool. You can find out more on I Like Big Buttons website and facebook page. Also, if you don’t want to wait, or don’t win the giveaway you can get 10% off any order from the website, coupon code: NAPTIMEC (good until 6/18/2014). The Giveaway is open internationally!!! I’ve already used my set to make a cute romper {pattern up next week!} and fix a diaper for a friend… AND make these awesome reusable snack packs!
and now onto these fabulous reusable snack packs…
You will need scraps of a laminated/plastic fabric for the inside and any other fabric for the outside, and a KAM snap.
Small size snack pack: cut 1 of laminate and 1 of regular fabric 12 1/2 x 4 1/2
Large size reusable snack pack: cut 1 of laminate and 1 of regular fabric 5 1/2 x 16
Place the fabric right sides together and sew along the two long sides and one of the short sides. Leave one end open to turn.
Turn right side out and finish the open end.
Fold up the bottom edge, leave 1 inch of back side at the top. {see below} Pin the sides and sew close to the edge to create the pocket.
Now use your awesome Kam snaps to make a closure!
and there you go! Reusable snack packs that are wipeable on the inside and cute on the outside. you can clean by wiping out, or just throwing the whole thing in the wash!
The small size fit a whole carrot, sliced. And the large one fit a whole apple. They are also perfect for crackers, raisins and nuts!

Great tutorial! I love my KAM Snaps, too! I used to use them for making baby bibs, but now that my boys are older this is a great reason to dig my tools out of the craft closet again! ๐
