Happy Summer everyone.. I’ve been sewing up a storm with my girls free sundress pattern. I shared it earlier in the season, and since then I sewed up a bunch more! Every year I’ve sewn something for the cousins on my side of the family and this year I used the free sundress pattern for the girsl… They boys didn’t get homemade this year…
I made up 5 sundresses from my pattern, then made a Thread Faction tank and just a simple gathered skirt for the oldest cousin. My sundress pattern is based off the free tank pattern I shared and only goes up to 6. I could have made it larger, but I love the tank from Thread Faction, so I just used that.
I love this crazy crew of girls. Add the three boys and this gaggle of cousins have had a blast together this past week. The free sundress pattern uses the tank pattern, and then gives a tutorial and measurements for adding a skirt. I used a knit/woven combination for my sundresses, but you could do knit/knit too.
The tops are all made from the same knit, but I ran out of the print for the skirt. When I couldn’t find that fabric again I bought the pink and made a few skirts from each one instead. I made Rose’s first for my orignal post and then a raised the waistline a bit. I love the higher waist skirt on the girls.
You can check out my other cousin clothes posts here: {this also shows you the evolution of my sewing skills and photography over the years!! haha} Check out each year for more details on the outfits..

Ahhh, that is so sweet, and wonderful to have the photos to look back on! You are such a good Aunt! My nieces and nephews are across the world, but when we get together I do try to make something or give a meaningful gift, well at least for the girls…….this week I am crocheting some American Doll clothes for my youngest niece, so thanks for the inspiration to get it together!
