I usually like to sew a couple of projects during Selfish Sewing week {hosted by Imagine Gnats and Kollabora} but with this week ALSO being Sew Many Books and Project Run and Play… I’ve decided to just make this one shirt and call it a good week!…. So.. I sewed up the Lane Raglan top by Hey June. It was a quick easy sew and I love it!
I made up the Small, but I think the XS would have been fine too. This shirt feels a bit large in the waist and arms, but it’s still a great shirt. The blue stripe is a cotton/lycra from the fabric markets here.. and the orange was a cut up refashion from another shirt.
Looking for great deals on fabric? Check out the amazing deals at Craftsy!! This weekend is an amazing sale {up to 70%} on fabrics and other sewing goods…
This shirt is perfect for fall… however,… its is absolutely NOT fall weather here.. So I had sweat running down my back as I was taking these photos… SO. HOT.HERE… This is the first time I’ve put on jeans in months.. and its just not time yet. BUT.. jeans look great with the Lane Raglan top!
The fit of this really great. I like the wide neckline, and the waistband. I also love that this is a bit longer on my… I’m really into that as a fit. I’ve got the sleeves pushed up, but they fit great pulled down too.
I set my camera up on the tripod to take these photos, but my remote isn’t working well. If I get farther than a few feet it doesn’t take.. So I had my boys help. First, Jack pushed the remote button really close to the camera. Then Max got in on the action and was pushing the actual camera… Let’s just say they were enjoying themselves.. I have about 50 photos of the same thing.. I could make make a flip book of the photos… sitting to standing… lifting an arm.. you get the picture.
Here are some outtakes from the boys taking my photos… You can insert, “stop taking photos” into most of the shots. Oh and the one on the left I’m wiping the sweat off my face before we take a few more.
And here’s a bit of the background in these photos… kids running around fresh off the school bus. A yellow, “don’t feed the monkeys” sign {I’m not kidding!!!} and someones bike locked to the railing.. I do love the crop and blur tools!!
Here are a few things I sewed last Selfish Sewing week:

I made a shirt too and posted it today too. I’m wondering what photo editing tool you use? I’m not happy with my blur tool at the moment!
Emily says
I use Photoshop elements and i actually used the smudge tool to mess the sign… I’m not confident with the blur tool ;o)
